Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
This policy explains what information UpPlay ("we", "us") collects when you play our games, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Which apps this covers
- Cats vs Dogs Solitaire (also called Solitaire Rivals), Android package
com.upplay.solitairerivals
It also covers this website and any other UpPlay game that links to this page.
2. What we collect
You do not need an account to play. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
Game identifiers and progress
- When the game starts it sends a device identifier to our server. We store only a one-way hash of it, which cannot be turned back into the original, and link it to a random player number.
- We store your game progress on our server, such as coins, trophies, completed missions and settings, so the game can keep it.
- Like any web service, our servers receive your IP address and basic request details (time, app version). Our hosting provider keeps these in its logs for a limited time.
Usage analytics
- We use Google Firebase Analytics and Mixpanel to understand how the game is played: for example which screens are opened, matches started and won, and purchases made.
- These services collect device information (model, operating system version, language, screen size), an app instance identifier, and an approximate location such as country or city derived from your IP address.
- On Android, Firebase Analytics may also collect your device's advertising ID. We do not show ads and we do not use it for ad targeting. You can reset or delete it in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
Crash reports
- We use Firebase Crashlytics. If the game crashes it sends a report with the error details, device state at the time of the crash and a crash-reporting identifier.
Notifications
- We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send notifications, which gives your device a notification token. The game can also schedule reminders locally on your device.
Purchases
- In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of what was bought (product and order identifier) so we can deliver it. We never see your card or other payment details.
3. How we use it
- To run the game and keep your progress.
- To deliver items you buy.
- To improve the game, including testing different game settings with different groups of players.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs.
- To send notifications you can turn off at any time.
- To prevent cheating and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to show you advertising.
4. Who we share it with
Only with service providers that run parts of the game for us, under their own privacy terms:
- Google: Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging, Google Cloud hosting, and Google Play billing (Google Privacy Policy).
- Mixpanel: product analytics (Mixpanel Privacy Policy).
- MongoDB Atlas: database hosting for game progress (MongoDB Privacy Policy).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our players and UpPlay. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the European Union and the United States.
5. How long we keep it
- Game progress and the hashed identifier: while you keep playing, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Analytics and crash data: for the retention period configured with each provider.
- Server request logs: for the hosting provider's limited log retention period.
6. Your choices and rights
- Turn notifications off in your device settings.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Uninstall the game to stop all further collection.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, by emailing info@upplay.games. Tell us the game name, your device model and roughly when you started playing, so we can find your records. We reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or privacy laws in California), you may also have the right to correct your data, object to or restrict its use, and complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Children
Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Information sent between the game and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We store device identifiers only as one-way hashes and limit who can access our systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will also tell you in the game.
